Hey guys I hope this is the right place to post this problem! Also, thanks in advance.
Background of the computer
I built it two years ago, here's the specs:
Asus P8P67 motherboard
Nvidia EVGA Geforce gtx 570 geforce GPU
Corsair TX 650 PSU
Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB ram
Yesterday, I noticed my computer turned off and I didn't know why. I had turned it on and left it to eat dinner. Now when I hit the power button nothing happens. I took it apart vacuumed the dust, took off the CPU to check for damage and there wasn't any. I cleaned up the thermal gel and put new gel on. I plugged everything back up and tried to power the computer again.
The CPU fan and chassis fans start spinning but then stop because the computer won't turn on. I checked the power source and it looks/smells good, and even the LED lights on the motherboard are on when plugged in.
Recently before this all, I had been getting warnings that my CPU was reaching high temps (90+ degrees) so my initial thoughts are the CPU. However, I don't think it is the CPU because they're probably the most durable part of the computer. Also, the computer would turn off if it got too hot.
My second thought is the motherboard, and since I don't have spare parts lying around I can't test this theory. I've also eliminated the thought it's the PSU because the it looked fine, LED lights on the motherboard are on and even the fans try to power up.
I hope someone can shed some light on this!
Thanks again!
