power supply problem?

hey guys, so I came back home after a long day, started up rome 2 coop with my buddy, and started noticing a dust burning smell (like the type you get when you turn on a heater after a long time of not using it). Being lazy and stupid, I decided to put off checking it out, and now my computer doesn't start up.

Things that may have contributed somehow

- power outage in my area prior to my return home
- dust inside the pc (I just now cleaned out with a gas compressor)
- maybe wiring problems caused by dust?

So after I cleaned it out, I tried to start up my pc again, and a blue light came on and went out almost immediately. That blue light was from my power supply, corsair GS600. The motherboard doesn't seem to have any distorted capacitors or other blemishes, the video card seems fine as well (hard to see exactly though because of its physical design... geforce gtx 550 ti). There's a slight burning scent from the power supply, which leads me to think there's a problem with the power supply... but can the power supply be busted and still flash on. even if only to flash back off?

I'd love to get your thoughts. Already sent a ticket to corsair asking the same thing, but still, more opinions the better.
