Hi.
I'm not the best in tech and these things but I try so, my problem is...

I have this iBuyPower PC with an AS Rock motherboard, originally it came with a AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card but tried to change it for an nVidia PNY gtx 550 ti slr8 (enthusiast edition) but it messed up the video and audio in my devices.

So.. I reinstalled again the radeon hd g.c. and video is working properly but my audio is not working anymore, when I go to playback devices (in the taskbar icon with a big red cross) it only shows me AMD HDMI output - marked as not plugged in.
But when I go to device manager screen it shows the AMD High Def Audio Device.

I should say that I already tried to configure all this by BIOS. The first time I tried, when my pc restarted gave the option to fix computer problems (recommended) automatically.
The second try, the BIOS options were just as I left them:
Graphics: PCI express.
Audio: enabled, Front: auto
But my system still exactly the same.
I tried to manage the drivers updating and restoring other drivers and either worked.

What I want is to make any of the graphics cards to work BUT with the onboard audio, NO HDMI or anything else..
Please help!

I have a 5-6 year old HP/Compaq laptop. I installed a new hard drive and I cannot install any new OS it sounds like it is reading the cd but nothing happens.....

Hello all,

I have XFX Nforce 680i SLI motherboard and today i decided to make a little upgrade to my 6-7 year old system so i bought the new Corsair 240gb LS SSD, http://www.corsair.com/en/ssd/force-series-ls-ssd/force... and so i made a little research and i saw that everyone was talking about activating the AHCI mode in the Sata configuration for the SSD in the bios which will make the SSD drive work with full speed and whatnot, so as it turns out either i couldn't find anywhere in the bios to activate this option or just my mobo just support it :S which would really suck.

So i thought i'd ask the community maybe i didn't look at the right place in the bios so i was wondering if anyone can help me activate this AHCI for my SSD.

Just for the record i already installed the SSD and running windows 8 64-bit on it right now with no issues, all went smooth without any issues.

So I want to make this as detailed as possible, so first my specs.

MB MSI|970A-G43 AMD970 950 AM3+ R Mobo

VGA ASUS|GTX660 TI-DC2OC-3GD5 R Video Card

PSU TT | SP-750PCBUS 750W R Power Supply

CPU AMD|6-CORE FX-6300 3.5G 8M R Processor

MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL Ram

The Situation*
So I got the computer with all these parts yesterday, assembled it myself. Turned it on, nothing. No post, but my hmdi monitor is recognizing the connection because it doesn't stay in sleep mode when the pc is turned on. Opened it up this morning took out a stick of ram and tried again. Now I'm being told "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." So I press a key and nothing happens. Reboot and can't get into the bios to change boot settings. I see a MSI logo screen appear for just a few seconds then it goes away to the above message.

If I disconnect everythign except cpu i get one beep and two after that in quick succession. Let me know if I left anything out, or if you just need more info. I was so excited to get this build up and going, but noooo.
Anyways, I'm new to the site, thanks in advance.

Hello,
I have a problem with my E-Machines T3302 desktop. It won't show anything on the monitor. The monitor says "No signal". I have tried re-inserted the RAM and that didn't fix it. Anybody know how I can get my Desktop to boot?

If I try to use the visualizer in iTunes it doesn't show; or if I try to watch a live stream in the iTunes Store (iTunes Festival) it says that "this computer does not support live streaming." I know that they both are related problems because I downloaded the latest VGA driver from the Acer website and then I was able to see the visualizer in iTunes and watch the livestream videos in the iTunes Store, BUT the screen had glitches in it.

Acer Apsire v3-551
Windows 7


I've downloaded the latest version iTunes; i've never been able to view the visualizer on iTunes since i've had this computer.

hi, all
I bought two of these "smart" batteries a couple days ago from this website http://www.batterieschargeur.fr/dell...tablet-pc.html due to the good prices and longer warranty. Now i tried to use the the smart mode in the battery manager according to what the customer service have noticed me.*

well, the thing is, there are some options coming to me to control when "data" is turned off. Does it mean i should disable 3G, WiFi or both of them? But i think this practise is dangerous since it's probably resulting in push e-mail or other background data being out of updating after the 15min timeout period,. In other word, most of my data connections will be timeout issue in the smart battery modeclosed and i can't get e-mails in this mode.Does anyone has any issues with the data on smart mode, including timeout and others. Discuss any thoughts here, welcome!!*

I have a dell inspiron mini running with ubuntu 11.10. It has been working the entire last week until i shut it down for the weekend. But today it has a black screen though power is on and have tried to remove static build up (20-30 sec pressing power button with both battery and AC cord OUT). Is there another trouble shoot procedures since it cannot even boot ?

About 2 months ago my laptop's camera is working perfectly fine. All of a sudden it just stopped working. I can view other people's camera but they can't see me ( this is every time I go on facebook video chat or using skype). My laptop's brand is Fujitsu ( Lifebook AH530). The system says the camera is working properly but I don't know how that's possible since I can't use it. Please help me.:(

Why isn't it working-meant to be straight forward!

Been trying to download samsung usb drivers for windows, as my Acer netbook doesn't recognise my phone whenever i try to use it as a modem. Tried to download www.android.com/filetransfer but have been unsuccessful. By the way I have tried numerous times to sort the problem out myself, but decided to get some help from experts like you guys.

What to do?!

My problem is my mouse which is double clicking, not every click but frequently. It is a PC world wired optical mouse. My operating system is Windows 7 (64 bit). I have tried changing the settings but nothing seems to work! Glad for suggestion to change mouses bad habit.

From what I have seen of hard-drive enclosures, they are powered by a 12V-DC adapter. Since hard-drives require both a 12V source and a 5V source, the enclosure must contain circuitry to provide the 5V not supplied by the adapter. Is that true?

data replaced by bootsqm.dat file !!!!!

ok my system has an sata drive caddy

now for some reason every drive i place in the caddy has this bootsqm file on it and nothing else !!!!!!! when i look at the drive unopened from my computer it shows the drive full as it should be but when i open the drive all i see is the bootsqm file and nothing else ,,,, this is the same no matter what drive i put in the caddy the all look the same

does anyone have any idea what this is about

Hi. I think this year I will finally get around to doing something I've planned on for a few years. I would like to build a state of the art computer that won't be obsolete in 10 years.
I'd like to use dual quad core cpus, a motherboard that will allow for a lot of expansion in terms of periferals, high end graphics card, and superb audio. I'd like a lot of Sata taps, USB sockets, and would like to have 3 to 4 internal harddrives, 2 optical drives,and an antique floppy drive. I already have a very powerful PSU, a Seasonic 1250 W, and am leaning toward an Antec One full tower for an enclosure, with water cooling capability.
I'd really like to have one of you builders out there to give me a "wish list"of systems boards, CPUs and accessories.
The computer will be used to surf, game , crunch numbers, solve equations and run a cad program.
In part this will be a learning experience for me; I believe the best way to learn is by doing.
If any of you out there can help me out with food for thought, ideas, and choices, I'd be very grateful. Thanks,

Firstly I know I know I should have backed up, but all may not be lost with the Dell laptop. It ran out of power and now it won't charge up. My cousin says the fizzling noise from the pack on the power lead suggests it's the lead itself, and to try borrow a similar lead. If it's not the lead it may be the battery needs replacing. If neither of these work he says he can open the laptop remove the drive and use some docking thing to transfer all my files onto an external drive for the moment.

I hope to buy an iMac similar to those in my college and therefore I need to buy an external drive that can work with an iMac and a Windows laptop. I asked in a local computer store and the sales assistant told me that he could sell a 3TB drive formatted for windows, but it couldn't work with a Mac. He said that drives need a switch or something to change from Mac or PC. This seems wrong because I bought a small 650GB external drive and formatted it to FAT32 on my tutors instructions and I can easily work on either the college iMacs or my PC laptop at home with no problems. The sales guy seemed surprised by this. Not sure he knew what he was talking about.

Am I right, can I buy any external drive, I had my eye on Seagate STBV3000200 3TB Expansion USB 3.0 3.5 Inch Desktop Hard Drive and simply format it on the Mac to FAT32 and will it then be compatible if I plug it into a PC?

Sorry for the novel, and thanks in advance for any help.

Can you get faster USB memory?
Similar to the classifications you get with SD memory

I've never seen this specified in USB memory before
I'd be happy to pay slightly more to get a lighting fast USB stick
Currently, copying 10GB can take 25 - 30 min - that's using Teracopy on Windows

AND.... why is is that Mac copy much much much faster?

I have a Canon ZR850 camcorder and Windows 7 OS. I can't get my computer to recognize the firewire connection to the camcorder. Everything works fine with a ZR830 but not the 850. What can I do?

Okay so i took a hard drive from PC (A) and put it in PC (B). PC (A) was running Windows Vista, PC (B) was running Windows XP. I'm trying to get PC (B) to work with PC (A)'s hard drive or a blank one that i have, how would i go about getting the OS on the hard driive. If possible what would i have to do to make this work. Hello!
Is it possible that due to insufficient power output from a malfunctioning desktop PC Power supply Unit (PSU) / SMPS just one of the IDE slot does work but not as it should whereas all other slots, I/O connections may work fine on the MB? IDE connection problem like Windows booting with just one HD but won't boot with 2 HD (Master and slave) or the drives are working but only in lower data transfer speed like MWDMA or PIO. NOT Ultra DMA. Any thoughts.
