I guess this post really boils down to 2 points:
1: I bought a Thrustmaster gaming headset and the headphones work great, the microphone not at all. Its not a hardware fault as i have tested it on my friends laptop and it works fine. From what i can see online, there are no drivers to download, it should just be plug and play. I have onboard sound on my motherboard and i have the MSI P67A-GD65. Do I need to buy a dedicated sound card in order to get my headset to work?
2: Thinking i did need a soundcard, i actually went out and bought one. I got the Asus DG headphone Amp & PCI. Problem being that it doesnt fit. I do have PCI slots on my motherboard, but they are 2.0, not 2.2, and it doesnt quite fit. How can you tell what fits your motherboard and what doesnt. Everything just says PCI and thats it, which isnt much help. Or am i doing something else wrong?
Any help much appreciated.
