I have a laptop, Acer Aspire, and not sure what is going on with it. Hoping maybe someone might have an idea. My USB ports have stopped working one by one for a few months. I can charge my phone through them but they will not recognize the phone, my printer or anything else we try to hook up. Now my disc drive has stopped recognizing any cd's or dvd's. I was trying to set up a restoration disc when I noticed this. I have tried playing music cd's, program discs, and dvd's. I went to device manager and tried updating the driver but it says it is up to date. I have tried uninstalling it and letting windows reinstall after startup, still wouldn't work. I restored back to factory and still won't recognize anything. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? I have run malware scans and Avast. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
