Hey, I'm trying to get my external drive to work without any lost of data. It's weird and odd because one minute the HDD works, and next it take a very long time to connect and sometimes it connects and other times I get the error like what it says in the title. It goes off and on like this. I tried uninstalling the USB Controllers from Device Manager, did not work. I tried to power off my computer and then unplug the power cord in the back of the PC tower for about two minutes and that didn't work. What else could I possibly try without data lost? This is WD elements 2TB external drive. The error as of now is "One of the USB devices has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" minus the quotes.
