Hello, I'm completely and utterly new to building computers and have been using laptops most of the time for everything,
I've recently decided I want to build a new Gaming PC, I've got a general idea of what I want but am open to new suggestions
For a bit of background I'm not a hardcore gamer per say, But I do play ALOT of LoL (League of Legends), I know LoL isn't all that demanding but I'd still like a PC thats capable of running BF3 pretty smoothly. On the odd occasion I might play a graphic intensive game so I'd like to able to enjoy the games on high settings with good FPS.
I've got an idea for my PC Setup, price range is about $1500, I know this probably goes over it with the addition of monitor, keyboard etc but I'll be buying it over time.
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K (No, I don't want to overclock, I have no idea what it does, but I'd rather not risk it. The only reason I went with the 3570k and not the 3570 is that a few of the sites I've been looking at have had the 3570k being cheaper.)
MB: I'm not completely sure on the motherboard,I looked at a few but I generally have no idea what I'm really looking for. I've seen some like the Asrock Z77 Extreme4, MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming, or the ASUS P8Z77-V LX, I'm always open for more suggestions for motherboard but either of 3 listed seem to perform well.
Graphics Card: MSI Geforce GTX660 Ti OC 2gb, this card looks to be a pretty good deal for it's performance and price.
Memory: I have no idea whether to go with 8gb or 16gb, I'd prefer to not spend the amount of money for 16gb when 8 will do, but it is worth it in the long run I will. I'll probably be looking into Corsair for memory but again, I'm open to suggestions, I'll most likely just go with Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-17066 2133MHz DDR3 RAM - 11-11-11-27 - Vengeance Series
Case: Cooler Master CM Storm Scout 2 White
Power: Corsair GS-700 V2
Optical Drive: Lite-On IHES312 12X Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive\
HDD: Western Digital 1TB Black
SSD: Samsung 840 S 128GB 2.5"
Monitor: BenQ RL2450HT 24"
Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler
It should all be compatible, and as I said I'm a complete noob, so if you would, just give any suggestions I could use to improve the performance or lower the cost without sacrificing anything important, I haven't bought anything yet but I will be looking at prices to start ordering in pieces soon.
