I have a 5 or 6 year old desktop eMachines computer running WinXP. When first turned on, pilot light lights, fans run, HD spins up and monitor comes out of standby and displays no signal for a few seconds. Then the monitor goes back into standby without ever displaying anything else.
Monitor works normally on another computer.
I assumed it was a problem with the graphic circuitry on the MB so added a new graphics card. No change.
Is there anything else to check before assuming it is a bad MB and relegating the computer to boat anchor duty?
