Hey gang,
So, my new laptop has an HDD with Windows 8 on it and I want to take my SSD out of my old laptop and clone the HDD onto the SSD. This is all new to me and I'm having a bit of trouble obviously. When I connect my SSD to USB on the new laptop and try to initialize the disc, it won't work (don't recall the error message, reinstalled the SSD in my old laptop for now). Is this happening because the SSD is fully loaded with Windows 7 from my old laptop? Do I need to format the SSD manually before cloning to it (using EaseUS todo backup)?
I posted on these forums a couple weeks ago with another plan of attack but I scrapped that because it was a terrible idea.
