My LCD display does not come on when I turn the desktop on.
The LCD works perfectly with my laptop.
My desktop is an "assembled" machine based on Intel GP31Pr motherboard. I believe that this mother board incorporates graphics on board. When I opened the back I did not see any card other than RAM (2GB). The PC runs Windows XP and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS in dual boot mode. The latter was loaded by a friend because of the imminent discontinuation of XP - he can't help me for he is no more.
The PC is used for mail, writing blogs and such light use and I do not game at all.
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM AND HOW CAN IT BE OVERCOME? Would like to avoid investing in a new machine if possible.
I am not familiar with hardware or software beyond turning on the machine and using it !
So please make the reply simple and comprehensible for the layman.
Thanks
