Touchpad Problems

Hi,

I got myself a new Sony Vaio Multi Flip series laptop a couple of weeks ago. I find that the touchpad is not always response when it comes to "registering clicks". Sometimes, it responds straight away even with the faintest of clicks and at other times, I have to press my finger 2-3 times (or really hard) for it to register a click. I wonder if this is likely to be a hardware issue or if this can be fixed?
