Present card -NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

1 PCI Express x4 slot
My problem is, that this is my friends computer originally came with Vista H.Prem. and the original card was a -NVIDIA GeForce GT120. The present card is a NVDIA Ge Force 9800GT has a code 43...and I suspect it is causing the green vertical lines on the LG Flatron W2353VQV. This was a floor model when she bought both monitor and computer.
I tested the monitor via VGA port on my computer and no problem, no lines. My computer does not have the DVI ports however so I could not test the computer or the monitor as far as the DVI on my monitor. I did use a new DVI cord, and so ruled out that it was the cord. Took the card out, cleaned it, put it back in. Still have the lines.
I suspect its the video card has burning out and in researching the card, I have notice many gpu's for NVIDIA use two cards and software for the 3D capability. I updated the present card for drivers, including the 3D capabilty, but it didn't change the vertical green lines. She uses this computer for videos and graphics. Her motherboard has no onboard video. So she needs a card regardless.
My question, whether I should put two GT9800GT cards and have her upload the software as well or should I should I replace the card with the original GT120 card ? Do I use two cards regardless in order for them to work correctly with all the bells and whistles.
I don't know much about these cards. I'm not quite sure that 1 GT120 card could do what the GT 9800 GT card card does.
Any help will be appreciated.
