I have a Gateway FX6850-51u Desktop:
Intel Core 17-2600 3.4GHz processor
16 GB DDR3
1 TB Hard drive
NVIDA GeForce GT440
DVDRW
Windows 7 64bit pro.
I would like to upgrade this PC with the following items.
USB 3.0 Pci-Ecard
SSD 90 or 120GB
Blu Ray player or another optical drive.
The PC has expansion slots for everything listed here, however, I'm not quite sure on what brands or specific type of units to buy.
I would prefer to use the best rated parts for each category as far as proven reliability and function.
Someone recommended a Western Digital Super Speed USB 3.0 Pci Ecard as a proven unit that should install without any issues. From the few places I've checked it appears that this USB 3.0 card is no longer being made or stocked, though Amazon still has a few for sale.
Amazon also recommends SATA 3 III SSD manufactured by Arch Memory, and compatible with the FRX6850-51u.
As for the Blu ray player or optical drive (I'm not sure if I should even spend money on a dedicated blu ray player) I just want to get a unit that with work with my PC.
Please allow me to thank who ever spends their personal time on my behalf in advance for your advice and recommendations.
Thank you.
