Hey there everyone,
I recently had some PC failure, my PC seemed to have a overheating problem, because it would start it up, and then it would shut itself off. I thought that this was maybe because my case was filthy. So I opened it up and cleaned it out, but during that process I think I may have shocked my Mobo with static. Because now it won't even power on.
I did the paper clip test and the power supply is working fine, after my friend ran a diagnosis the only logical explanation is that the Mobo is dead. (Which really sucks since the machine is only 2 years old).
So I went out in search of a new mobo, low and behold my mobo has been discontinued by MSI, and is out of stock everywhere. Even New Egg :(. MSI even told me that there is no new mobo that is compatible with what I have now.
I am a noob when it comes to PC's, the rig that I have right now I got from Cyber PC, my friend picked out all the specs for me. But now that it is time to replace parts I am a bit dumbfounded. She told me that I will most likely have to get both a new Mobo and CPU, and I have no idea where to start or what to get.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? I really miss my PC, Thanks in advance!
