Ok here are my specks
Phenom ii x4 black edition
Asus M5A97 Evo motherboard
8gb patriot g2 series ram
Asus HD7950
So heres my question..im faily new to overclocking.
Iv read a bunch of guides to help me overclock a bit
I managed to get my cpu from stock 3.6ghz to 4.0ghz with 1.45V
Im currently running prime95 to che k for sta bility
Been 20m and cpu is at 64 degreed
My question however is that im a bit confused abouy something...the way i overclocked it i increased the multiplier by small incriments then when the system crashed i increased voltage(assuming thats the correct way)...anyways my cpu bus frequency is still at 200mhz...i read that the cpu bus frequency is speed at which cpu comunicates with memory or something like that...im curiouse to know how overcloking a cpu increases performance even if the cpu frequency is still at 200mhz(stock)...???.....or did i overclock wrong?....
Sry if this is in wrong thread
