So, I was given a semi old HP Pro 3130 MT that I decided to upgrade by adding more ram. I found a deal for 4gb DDR3 for $20 and went for it. Now, the system won't post and won't even get to BIOS. And the bios doesn't give me any ram options either (when I boot using the old ram).
Is there anything I can do besides returning the ram?
This is the RAM info: HP - 4GB (1X4GB) 1333MHZ PC3-10600 CL9 DUAL RANK ECC REGISTEREDDDR3 SDRAM DIMM GENUINE HP MEMORY KIT FOR HP PROLIANT SERVER G6/G7SERIES (500658-S21).
PS. Can I use ECC ram on non ECC board?
