My custom-assembled, vintage 2004-2006, used-purchase computer is described above. It has served me faultlessly since 2008. In the past couple of days, it has been shutting itself down. My power options settings are for "never" on all choices. I have run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and found 8, ad-tracking installations in my registry, one in My Documents. All have been removed. I have run my AVG scan and updates regularly. Nothing found. I am wondering if my system shut itself down because it was overheating. On that possibility, I removed the covers of the system box, vacuumed it carefully and thoroughly. I also vacuumed carefully the power supply by removing its cover. I vacuumed the two cooling fans gently, holding them from rotating with a chop-stick (I love Chinese take-outs!) I don't know if I have solved my problem. This sort of shutdown has not occurred before with this computer. If it shuts down again, do you have any suggestions?
