Mouse sometimes freezing when left clicking

If the mouse pointer moves slightly when I left click on a link or icon it freezes and I have to reboot. I've tried other USB ports and another mouse, and tried other GPU drivers but same thing. I try to be careful but it really slows me down. It doesn't seem to happen every time, I can go days without the problem.
