Computer won't recognize External Drive

Hello, My computer (Dell Dimension Windows XP) will not fully recognize the External Hard Drive I Hook up VIA USB.. It see's it in Device Manager and says it's functioning correctly but it will not show it in My Computer section, I tried to plug and un plug multiple times, No Luck.. Any Ideas? THANKS In Advance
