I just bought a new laptop, a Lenovo Idea Pad N585. Something seemed wrong from the moment I got it. It has Windows 8, and the very first thing I did was install a bunch of updates from the app store. They got stuck and I had to restart the computer. Things like that happened all the time, so I thought it must be Windows 8. One thing that I pegged down for sure as a problem was that when I try to copy and paste large files, the copy and paste stops working. For example, it will start out at 12 MB/s. then around 5 or 6 %, it goes to 0 MB/s and just stays there. I figured that's just not right for a brand new computer. I had downloaded one app that I wasn't 100% sure about. It's the Classic Shell app. In case that had anything to do with it (although things had been happening before I downloaded that), I reset Windows to default settings. Still the same stuff. Should I return the computer for being defective?
