Hi, I'm having a little trouble with a new laptop battery for a Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista. Got the "your battery is dying" message a few weeks ago and purchased a new one (not from Dell, but I've yet to receive a bad battery from this seller). The new battery charged to full after about 4 hours. The charge held for a glorious 6 hours the first time, and I let it run down completely before recharging, as per the instructions.
The next time, however, the charge held for 3 hours, then 2. Since then it's been pretty much like I might as well have stuck with the old battery, especially considering I'm still getting the dying battery message.
Did I do something to kill the battery, or is this likely to be a problem with it/my laptop?
