callibrating laptop monitor to cintiq

hi,

i've got a very old cintiq 12xw. its a 2nd hand with no cds or instructions. i've gotten it all hooked up properly. but i'm not sure how to callibrate my laptop monitor. when i plug the cintiq in, my laptop screen is all stretched out. the cintiq screen looks fine. i've got a compaq presario CQ70 running windows vista. thanks in advance!
