I was thinking of a way to control our media center PC with a remote so that we didn't have to have a keyboard and mouse constantly plugged in. Obviously, I could buy a windows media center remote and solve that problem (that is if it even works with XBMC). However, I found a cheaper remote and USB-Ir combo and decided to try that instead. Also, because the layout of the remote was rather plain, I decided to try using a universal remote we have in conjunction with the USB-Ir combo. I found a program called Girder that confirmed to me it is possible to get a random remote to work with the Ir receiver because the add remote function recognized one of the codes I entered into the remote. However, I'm finding it a little cumbersome to go any further with Girder. Obviously, I can make a keymap file to work with XBMC. However, as I started messing with the buttons, other Windows functions started happening. As such, is there a program out there that can help me reprogram the remote (from within windows, not by hacking the remote) so that it does only what I want it to do?
