Fitting SSD 3 to old Mobo

I am looking to speed up my desktop PC and I plan to fit a Samsung 840 Series Pro 256GB drive to run the OS and programmes.
My motherboard is an Asus P5W DH Deluxe.

Is there a way to get the best functionality from the the drive?
