I am wanting to revert back from wireless internet to wired internet in my home. I just have one laptop. I have been using a 2Wire 2701HG combination wired/wireless modem/router. According to the manufacturer, the unit still emits wifi signal even when I have ethernet hooked up and active. For health reasons, I want to eliminate the wifi signal. I also own a LinkSys BEFSR41 wired router. Is there any way to use the router without the modem, maybe with an adapter of some sort? When I had a desktop computer, I was able to use this router by adding a pci adapter. Anything like that for a laptop? Or do I just need to get a wired modem? :confused:
