FREAKY graphics problem...

Okay this oughta stump some of you out there. I just traded a desktop I refurbed for a HP Pavilion DV9700 laptop. BEAUTIFUL FREAKING MACHINE, I have never owned such a machine before. Anyway it has this FREAKY problem. When you first start the PC, post screen is fine, "starting windows screen is fine, then the screen where it shows log in accounts, it looks like person has taken their finger and pressed really hard into the screen and smeared it in a"curvy, half moon" shape. When windows loads it goes away. Until you change graphics theme to standard with ANY aero interface it cant be seen but regular background it can. Now heres something else, when it DOES do it on the log in screen, you can tilt the screen downwards and POOF it vanishes. IM LIKE WHAT THE HELL!!?? My ideas are bad screen, bad inverter, or busted graphics chip. I have tried fresh install of Windows and CLEAN drivers install from Nvidias site and HP's site. ANYONE have ANY ideas on this one?? Thanks in advance!!
