So, I bought this nice little VANTEC NexStar-FX NAS - single bay, Gigabit, quiet. I installed a 3TB HD in it.
The problem: Dang thing doesn't have NTFS as a format option - Just EXT2 or 3, and FAT32. Of course, trying any of them (from either the PC or Mac) fails.
What would be the best way to go about formatting the drive so I can use the NAS? I assume I'll have to install the drive somewhere else to format it... but if I format it as NTFS for instance, will I be able to use it? Or will I have to do a ton of FAT32 partitions?
FWIW, this is my first attempt at utilizing a NAS.
