I have an old PC (Pentium 4, 2.8GHz), with an AGP graphics slot, which is running Windows 7.
Since my old FX 5600 video card packed up, I've been using a very low-spec replacement that gives me basic function but no more.
I'm looking for a proper replacement (equal or better than the 5600), and have come across an EVGA GF 6200 on Amazon, which Microsoft lists as Win7 compatible. It seems to be suitable, but it has a heatsink, not a fan. Xan this card really compare performance-wise with the FX 5600, especially with demanding tasks such as video editing? For comparison, the FX 5600 let me run Windows Movie Maker without any problems, and watch hi-res (relative term, I know) videos.
If this card can match the FX 5600 without any fan noise, and if there aren't any compatibility issues I've missed, then I'll definitely buy it.
PS. Please don't tell me to get a new PC.
Money's short, times are hard, I just want a graphics card! :p
