dvd rewriter not working`

hello guys i have a 1 year old advent tower dual core and 1 t hard driver all has been well till yesterday when i went to look at some photos on dvd and my dvd rom would not read any discs so i went into device manger and found this ..Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
any help would be very welcome and thank you
