I have a Seagate HDD, model: ST2000DL001. Capacity: 2TB.
This is an HDD in an external USB box. I tried connecting it directly through SATA to troubleshoot it.
When I power on the PC, the HDD beeps and clicks, and the PC takes a long time to boot (about 1-2 minutes instead of a few seconds).
It shows up in disk manager as a non-initialized 4GB disk. I tried to initialize it and got an I/O error.
I tried checking it with MHDD. Still 4GB and full of ABRT and other errors (can't initialize, etc.).
Tried using GetDataBack and Active@ Partition Recovery. They just shows errors (can't read LBA xxx).
The HDD never fell or something. Just stopped working.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Will buying a new PCB in eBay and replacing it help?
Thank you very much!
