First off, I apologize if this is not exactly the right forum to be posting this in but it's the closest I could think of.
I'm toying with the idea of putting together a small "computer" that I can tack on to the back of a monitor. It's sole purpose would be for streaming videos online via wifi and possibly to play DVD's from an external DVD drive. I'm most likely going to go with ubuntu or a similar OS.
Currently I'm thinking about selecting this as my microcontroller to work with for this project. VGA and 3.5mm connections work fine for me and I'm hoping a USB connection for a wifi adapter and the external DVD drive is good enough. Is there any reason why I should reconsider? Any recommendations for alternative hardware would be appreciated.
