core by CnM problems

I am experiencing problems with a Core by CnM, when I plug it in, it is making a noise, like a disk inside is turning then it stops, a blue light is on, but it is not showing up on the computer, it used to open a box asking me to view files etc, what can I do, as I have lots of images and documents that I need to retrieve, as I saved all my files from my pc here and now my pc is no longer working.

Please help :o
