Strange keyboard issues

Hey, I have been Googling and surfing the forums and can't seem to find a similar issue.

Basically, I have a madcatz v7 gaming keyboard and its great, I like typing on it and the lighting effects though a gimmick are pretty cool.

It has been solidly working for the past year but all of the sudden a family member was using it the other day and they told me it suddenly stopped working.

When I came to check sure enough it didnt work either at boot for the bios or in windows. I tried another USB port and uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them numerous times including removing them from the registry. As i was also planning on it i preformed a system reformat after a physical component clean and still no joy. thinking maybe its my OS or USB ports I tried it in my laptop and still nothing.

One thing i did notice however is that the media keys, volume, song control still work. But the macro keys and normal qwerty typing do not work.

I am basically at a loss as to what is happening and thought id posts for any ideas.
