failing to boot

I was playing TF2 when my computer gets frozen somehow, screen doesn't move and sound output is like a screech. so I turn it off and it doesn't boot again. power button simply doesn't do anything, whole machine just stays completely dead.

I'm assuming something is very ****ed but if someone can just point me at a faulty part replacing it is an acceptable option, even if it means losing all my data.
