Epson WF-2540 Printing very slow

Using MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.8. Epson printer takes almost five minutes to print one B/W page. Printer setting are: Plain Paper, Draft speed, Actual Text Size. I do get a message when printing is done that says Fax Auto Dial is on which last five seconds. I have not set up or use the fax mode.
