Hey,
I recently bought a PC with an MSI Z87-G55 motherboard. There is no sound card installed, but the motherboard has on-board sound integrated. I installed all the drivers, in Control Panel -> Device Manager everything is shown to be properly installed. Now check this out.
The volume mixer icon shows a red cross indicating that there is no sound. When I click on it, it asks to start the Windows Audio System. I click yes. Then it takes me to the audio mixer window, with my sound device listed in it. As soon as I click on ANYTHING in that window, the list is emptied and I get an error message that no sound device has been detected.
So, any suggestions?
PS. I CAN hear the windows startup music, but after that all sound is disabled automatically.
Brand new construction, brand new windows, no viruses or anything of that sort.
