My HP Pavilion g6 computer was having trouble over heating, I kept getting messages whenever I booted up that the computer shut down because of cooling problems even after I had shut down normally. This led to messages of the hard drive being in danger of corruption.
I then did something that I now know was incredibly stupid. I took the comp apart and got the hard drive out because it was obvious the computer was about to die forever. I bought an Amicroe advanced storage USB 3.0 external cover to house the hard drive and thought I would be able to plug it into my sons HP Pavilion g6 (which runs windows 8, mine ran windows 7) and extract my most important files.
Obviously this didn't work and I am now at a loss as to how to proceed. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you - SC
Another issue that I have is that my sons HP Pavilion g6 keyboard does not work, so we are using wired keyboard, I have tried numerous times to download the newest keyboard drivers, but I always get the same message that the driver is the latest version.
