After purchasing a second hand laptop running Windows 7 SP1 I brought a brand new Genius Mouse to use with the laptop. This is a wired mouse. I had to buy a wired keyboard too.
I've had the mouse for maybe two months and at the start it worked perfectly. Now it's gone nuts. The wheel doesn't work properly. I have it set to scroll 3 lines etc, but what it does is, after I have rolled it towards me, to make it move down the page, the next time I touch it, it moves the page back up to where it was. Does that make sense ?? I move the page down, and then the next time I touch the mouse (the wheel), instead of moving the page down as it is meant to, the page actually goes up... so I'm back to where I started. It is doing my head in.
I plugged in a very old mouse that I use on my XP machine and no problem at all, the scroll feature works as it should. I"ve searched everywhere online to try and resolve this but no luck.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful as I'd like to get it working properly again. Thanks.
