Eithernet card not detecting

In Windows XP SP3 while installing the eithernet card drivers it is showing the error messaga of
installer can't find atheros L1 ethernet controller on your system. And my CPU back side
eithernet light is always showing on while iam removing wire r not. in BIOS also LAN is enabled mode
only so give me suggestion..
