HDMI issue

Hello,

A few days ago, my computer tower was accidentally pushed over a bit while turned on. Ever since then, there seems to be a slight malfunction where the HDMI produces no sound via the graphics card, and does not show up at all via the motherboard. While it may be a hardware issue, I would still like to look into possibilities for a fix, as a google search reveals that many people experience this problem.

With the graphics card connected
The pre-windows boot screen is no longer viewable. The HDMI signal only comes through after Windows has loaded. In the Screen Resolution window, the Display no longer shows the name of my monitor. Instead, it shows '1. Display device on: DVI'. This is very strange, as the display is going through HDMI, not DVI.

With the graphics card removed
There is no signal via HDMI from the motherboard at all. Only D-Sub works.

Further details
There is no longer any sound via HDMI when the graphics card uses it. There is only video (remember this is only after Windows loads.)

In the sound Control Panel, I see many instances of 'Digital Audio (HDMI) not plugged in'.
There is only one item activated (Digital Audio S/PDIF). However, this does not produce any sound through the computer's hardware, although the bars on screen jump when sound is playing.

I have tried reinstalling/updating graphics drivers and software; no luck.
I use Windows 8.

Hardware in question
Graphics card - XFX Radeon HD7770
Motherboard - Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
Monitor - BENQ GW2250HM

Thank you for your time.
