Have a friend who fell on hard times, lost most of his possessions and living in tiny 1 roomer. Thought I would dust off a desktop i've had in storage a couple of years and give it to him. Would like to top off CPU and GPU and fishing for suggestions. It is hp pavillion service tag a6432f with a NARA3 M2N68-LA Motherboard. According to HP spec page and an article dated late 2009, the 64x2 6400+ is the fastest processor the AM2+ socket can handle (found a forum entry elswhere where a guy said he has put several faster phenom cpu's in as long as they were 125w). Is this still the fastest or did something come along later. I also would like suggestions on a graphics card that MoBo and power supply can handle. Thanks for all input.
