boot problem

sometimes when my computer is booting it hangs on either the first screen where it is detecting hard drives or on the screen with the windows 7 logo and does not finish booting.


Sometimes after it has hung on the first screen for a while is eventually starts up.


I have a sata hard drive and a DVD drive which is IDE with a SATA converter.
