I have been trying for the past week to get my external drive to be seen by My Computer which is a WIN XP Pro, SP3. I experienced the problem when I changed the IP scheme on my DSL Modem from a 192.xx.xx.xx scheme to a 172.xx.xx.xx so my son's MAC Laptop could get connected. I noticed my Diskgo started having problems when I would try to access my files and I couldn't get to them. So I did a reset on the Diskgo HDD and it's never been the same. When I connect the Diskgo via Ethernet to to DSL modem like it's always been my Internet will drop and I have to reset the modem. I have proven this several times to make sure it is being caused by the Diskgo HDD, so I have since gone back on the DSL Modem to 192.xx.xx.xx and disconnected the Ethernet cable and trying to connect the Diskgo drive via USB now. Much to no avail. I have searched the IE for assistance even from edgetechcorp.com and it has been worthless. Hope you can help?
