Intel® Core2 Quad Processor Q8300
(4M Cache, 2.50 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)

Lately my CPU fan will start racing at highspeed for no apparent reason, I don't even have to be using it. The case is not dirty and the fan and cooling fins are all clear (blasted it anyways). I installed "RealTemp" to monitor the temps and the temps spiked to 96 Celcius with 40% load... except I don't see what program is causing the load. Right now it is average 48-51 celcius with 3-10 % load.
I have the cover off and it still does it, is something failing on my motherboard or CPU? I don't have any indications of a virus that could be sapping my cpu ( scans are negative?).
thanks for any help.
