HP HD3000 external hard drive

Hi guys

A fair few years ago I bought an HP Pavilion, which came with an external hard drive the HD3000.
Now the Pavilion packed up (not a major issue, since we all have our own laptops/tablets etc).
The external hard drive stores all family photo's, so I bought a power cable and hooked it up to my Laptop, it installs a USB Mass storage driver and then... nothing
Tried my wives laptop, same result (both run win7 64x)
Tried the daughters, she runs Vista...nothing
The HP website (which isn't really user friendly) doesn't seem to offer driver download options...

Do any of you guys have any suggestions?
