So here's the story: I purchased a new Mobo, CPU and Graphics Card to upgrade my somewhat outdated PC.
I put in all the parts and was ready to go and turned it on, it went to POST (YAY!), so then I proceeded to flash my BIOS so that the motherboard can support the new CPU. According to the manufacturers website, i will need the latest drivers so that it may support this CPU. So I dled the new BIOS drivers onto a FAT32 USB and was ready to do it, then hit a brick wall, not 1 keyboard allowed me to actually enter the BIOS.
I tried 2 different USB keyboards, (in all the USB ports) and even went out and bought a PS/2 keyboard, but none of them would let me go into the BIOS as if the keyboards were not being detected. I checked to see if it was the USB ports themselves, but it I plugged in my USB headphones and they lit up, so that wasn't the problem.
There was nothing I could do to get into the BIOS so that I may update my motherboard and get on my way to a new PC.
Here are the Specs:
- Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3R Motherboard
- Nvidia 780 Ti GTX
- Intel i7-3770k processor
- Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3 RAM
- 2x300GB HDD
- 1x180GB Intel SSD
- Thermeltake 600W PSU (yes i know, this is the minimum required, but I will get a new one soon)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!
