Here's my issue: I am in the market for a new laptop, for around $1000-1300 or so. There are many that will fill the bill, but the one I tried tonight I really liked: an ASUS with a backlit keyboard that had a nice feel to it, 1T drive, and decent battery life. I go off-roading sometimes, where I'm way off the grid, and then charging devices becomes a major issue. I have a Samsung Note 3, an iPad, and a laptop (getting a new one.) I have several portable USB chargers that I can use for the phone, but especially for the laptop, keeping it charged is difficult. yeah, I can plug it into my ac/dc car converter/power supply (Belkin), but that means leaving the car idling for 2-3 hours. And I have the other chargers that I need to charge up as well.
I figure my best bet is to maybe get an extra laptop battery or two, and switch them out as necessary.
I was going to buy the Asus tonight, but then I found that the battery is inside and inaccessible, that is, unless I want to take the back off. So I decided not to buy it.
Sorry for the looooong message, but there are two issues: can I find a solid laptop with exterior easy access battery, and does anyone have a really good idea for keeping multiple devices charged on 3-4 day trips with no external ac power.
Thanks!
