There was an older thread for this motheboard but I don't think Pentium D's were out then. It's an old motherboard but I'd like to put enough RAM in it so that it can run Chrome with ease. What's the best processor I can put in it? Can I put a pentium D in it? Also for the RAM, it has 4 slots. Ideally I could put one large stick in there but if it would be cheaper to put in 4 smaller sticks, I'd rather do that. What is the maximum amount of RAM I can put in it?
Motherboard:
Board: Dell Inc. 0M3918
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
Current CPU:
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Hyper-threaded (2 total)
Current RAM:
2x256 MB
If this MB can only be upgraded only slightly, then should I just get a regular Micro ATX for this case? I'd like to use everything possible without building everything from scratch. I recently put a Pentium D in a similarly aged computer and added only 1 extra GB of RAM and it's made a world of difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated :D.
