This has happened numerous times before, when I accidentally yanked out the optical audio cable connected to my headphones, and my PC shuts itself down. This is usually during an active game or program, and it won't always shutdown the pc if it happens but after the 2nd or 3rd time of doing it, my PC shutdown (with a Windows shutting down screen).
Before I've always been able to start up again without any issues, but this time when I booted back up I get an error at POST screen which says "USB Device Over Current Status Detected !! Will Shut Down In 15 Seconds". So I tried every simple thing I could, unplugging all usb cables (3 in the rear usb ports) and disconnecting the front ports from the mobo.
I do recall having some trouble with the motherboard's usb ports before, so I really hope this isn't because I have a faulty motherboard and I've just finished it off after this.
