I have a quad-core 6800 w/4 gig ram and 2 TB disk space. It worked fine for the last 4 or so years but last week I started it and the fans ran at what sounded like tripple normal speed then nothing else happened. I held the on button until it shut down,and it started normally on the next try. The same thing happened last night, but this time the restart only brought me back to the "turbo" fans. No beeps, no lights on the keyboard, nothing but the fast fans.I pulled the cover and checked all the connections, everything good. I removed the mem cards (4 of them) and swapped them around. Still no joy. I can feel the HD spinning. I'm at my whitts end. Do I own a big black doorstop now or is there something else I can try?:eek: Oh yeah it's running Vista home pro.
